Groove, Brazilian roots and a life built around the dancefloor
There is a particular relationship between music and movement. Some tracks simply occupy space on the dancefloor. Others create a feeling, change the atmosphere and make people stay a little longer.
That space is where WITZ has been building her identity.
WITZ is the artistic project of Brazilian DJ and producer Fernanda Witis, a Rio de Janeiro native who has spent more than a decade building her presence in electronic music. Her sound moves through House Music, Afro House and Brazilian musical influences, bringing together groove, organic percussion, energy and a strong connection to the dancefloor.
Now, that journey enters a new chapter with “The Light / Keep Burning”, her debut release on Nothing To Prove.
From Rio to the dancefloor
WITZ’s story is deeply connected to the musical culture of Rio de Janeiro.
Throughout more than a decade in music, Fernanda has performed at important clubs and events across Brazil, including D-Edge Rio, D-Edge São Paulo, Sea Club Ilhabela and the traditional Sábado Dre Tarde.
These experiences helped shape an artist who understands the dancefloor not simply as a place to perform, but as an essential part of her language.
In her sets, different references meet around one common element: groove.
Brazilian music finds its way through percussion and organic textures, while House and Afro House provide the structure for an experience built around movement.
An identity built through production
WITZ’s evolution has never been limited to the DJ booth.
As a producer, Fernanda has released music through labels including Lemon Drops, Beeside Records and Groove Society. Her track “Livre Pra Sambar” reached #63 on Beatport’s Afro House chart, while “Copacabana” received attention on Traxsource, expanding the project’s reach beyond Brazil.
In 2026, WITZ reached another important moment in her career with an official remix of “Zé do Caroço”, the iconic song by Brazilian artist Leci Brandão, produced alongside Dré Guazzelli.
The remix was officially authorized by Universal Music, bringing WITZ’s electronic language into dialogue with one of the most recognizable pieces of Brazilian musical culture.
It is another example of something that has become increasingly present throughout her work: the ability to connect Brazilian references with contemporary electronic music without losing the feeling that makes them unique.
More than the music
There is another side to WITZ that exists beyond the records and the stage.
Fernanda is the founder of Sons Solares, an event brand created around music, the Rio lifestyle, outdoor gatherings and dancefloor culture.
She is also part of H.I.T.A (House Is The Answer), a female collective focused on strengthening the presence of women in electronic music.
Together, these projects help reveal the world surrounding WITZ.
It is a world shaped by the city she comes from, the people she brings together, the music she plays and the spaces where those elements meet.
The Light / Keep Burning
It is from this universe that “The Light / Keep Burning” arrives on Nothing To Prove on October 2, 2026.
The two-track release explores House Music through groove, vocals, synths and different levels of intensity, revealing another dimension of WITZ’s sound.
“The Light” opens the release with an uplifting House direction, built around infectious grooves, captivating synths and a distinctive female vocal. There is a sense of movement throughout the track, creating an atmosphere that feels bright without losing its connection to the club.
“Keep Burning” takes a deeper and more sensual route. A prominent bassline, captivating vocals and tension-building synths gradually pull the track forward, while the interplay between kick and bass keeps its connection to the dancefloor physical. Guitar-inspired synth elements add swing and give the groove another layer of character.
Rather than simply presenting two tracks, the release captures an artist exploring different spaces within a language that has been part of her journey for years.
WITZ x Nothing To Prove
WITZ’s debut on Nothing To Prove brings together two worlds connected by a shared relationship with club culture.
On one side, an artist shaped by Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian musical references and a deep understanding of groove.
On the other, a label built around artists with their own identity and music that exists beyond the pressure to follow trends.
“The Light / Keep Burning” marks the beginning of that connection.
For WITZ, it is another step in the development of a project that continues to expand across the booth, the studio and the wider electronic music community.
For WITZ, this release is another step in the evolution of a project that continues to expand across the booth, the studio and different spaces within electronic music culture.
For Nothing To Prove, it marks the arrival of an artist whose language is deeply connected to the dancefloor, but reaches far beyond it.
